Isn't there a case in court about several women molested at the congress session, women members of congress who were attending the session, Corsica 2009 or so, involving presence of the current president of congress? Arnav Goswamy stopped discussion about it on one debate recently because the case is in court.

Come to think, there was once a visitor in AF in ordinary dress and mangalsutra - not just decorative Bindi sticker, mind you, but very formal mangalsutra - who, turned out, was a nun, invited to lecture the class about how this religion was the biggest in the world. Subsequently speaking about the one woman they respect, apparently the only one, she stated "she wasn't like ordinary woman, you know", and you could see the scorn pouring out of her!
What can one say to someone who despises their own mother for not being a virgin, and pretends to be respectable married Hindu to cheat a bunch of adults!

Rohini Sadasivan "I don't think it is about the religion in general. If there are corrupt christian priests, we have sadhus and maulvis too who are equally bad as human beings. I just dont understand why take the path of God or Religion if this is what they want to do and be."
Main difference is about a church priest being a comfy job with permanent tenure and free housing, and institutional backing all the way when such a case is exposed. Saadhu, on the other hand, no guarantee of food or shelter, and no single institution guarantees anything. It's pretty much like travelling beyond Haridwar in Himaalayan regions versus driving in Swiss Alps.

In India it might be written into the constitution which is bad enough, but check out "Spotlight " which is true story about a Boston newspaper breaking the scandal about rampant paedophilia in church, especially Roman Catholic church, and see how the fear and pressure was used deliberately to silence most people, until this newspaper played opposite, pretty much breaking the story to the public. Try counting the number of countries where these cases have come to light, it's on screen at the end just before credits roll.
